Tweaks for Twitter is a Safari extension that improves the user interface of twitter.com in many ways. Tweaks is made by indie developer Jeff Johnson. If you need support, please email me at [email protected] or read the support site at https://underpassapp.com/tweaks/support.html Tweaks makes Twitter better in Safari by removing these annoying elements: • Promoted tweets • Messages drawer • Trends • Who to follow • Topics to follow • Keyboard shortcuts • Hover cards • What's happening? • This Tweet is unavailable. • This tweet is from an account you blocked/muted. • This tweet includes a word you muted. • Explore • More Tweets • Bottom bar when logged out • "See more Tweets from" that blocks the whole window when logged out • "See new Tweets" • Followed by some Tweeters you follow, Some accounts you follow often like this Tweeter, etc. • Blue checkmarks • Twitter Blue • Verified Notifications Tweaks automatically selects "Following" in your "Home" timeline! Tweaks also unsticks the title at the top of the Twitter window, making it scrollable. Tweaks replaces shortened https://t.co/ URLs in tweet links with the real unshortened URLs, allowing you to bypass Twitter's click tracker. (This feature does not work for Twitter cards or user profiles.) Tweaks has a number of options you can enable: • Hide all tweets from blue checkmarks! • Disable the Immersive Media Viewer on iPhone • Hide retweets from all users on all timelines • Hide retweets from all users on your Home timeline • Hide animated gif profile photos • Hide the downvote buttons • Hide the tweet button • Swap the colors of the Follow and Following buttons • Hide tweet stats • Disable the Twitter "Chirp" font • Automatically expand "Show replies" in conversations! (This feature currently works only with English, German, and Spanish display languages on Twitter.) • Hide "Home", "For you", and "Following" at the top of the home page!
Great customization, but lacking bookmark support.
Love the extension but noticing that it’s not working when I add Twitter to my homescreen (probably because Twitter will act differently and there’s no extensions options there.) I want to keep Twitter separate from Safaei and the bookmark/homescreen version is perfect for that, but the extension doesn’t work on it.
Tweetbot refugee
Twitter still dominated hive mind but is wallpapered with ads and annoyances. This fixes the site to be usable again. Feedback go dev, on your app page mention Two step install process: enable extension and give it access to the Twitter domain. Not obvious the second step is needed from your current text under the blue wrench.
The only way to use Twitter.
Thanks to the developer for adding “auto-select Following in Home” in today’s update 🫡
Cross-platform fix: set it and forget it
Around 2022, Twitter in a browser started popping up a modal dialog box after you had scrolled down a page, to “remind” you to log in. This extension fixes many other annoyances as well, but they’re just a bonus for me: once again, Twitter once again behaves like a regular web page in Safari on macOS, iPadOS, and iOS.
Does not block twitter login pop up
I had hope this tool would allow me to use twitter without being logged in. Unfortunately, it does not. Twitter displays a popup blocking you from reading it after scrolling through a few tweets. This tool does not eliminate that popup.
Perfect
It works as what it says. Don't use system back gesture. Use twitter home button on the bottom left corner of the page to go back.
Near perfection!
I hate using apps with ads I can’t block, or random “here is a tweet you’ll like!”, etc so I always stuck to the web client with my own Twitter tweaks into a bookmarklet that made it better. This extension does just about everything I want, and a bunch of things I don’t, but it’s all configurable! There’s a few quibbles though: * the browser back button now pops you at a seemingly random place — I think it’s just not capable of knowing where to go back to when it’s zapped content * no style — seriously it’s pretty bare bones with not so great descriptions of what all the various buttons do, but you can figure it out It works and lets you gain some control over Twitter, and it’s cheap. Just buy it.
Now hides stats in user profiles, such as the number of tweets at the top, the number of Following and Followers, and "Followed by".• Removed the preference "Hide Verified Organizations", because Twitter combined Twitter Blue and Verified Organizations into one Verified button.
