Group Chat, Friends & Gaming
Discord is where you can make a home for your communities and friends. Where you can stay close and have fun over text, voice, and video chat. Whether you’re part of a school club, a gaming group, a worldwide art community, or just a handful of friends who want to spend time together, Discord makes it easy to talk every day, and hang out more often.

CREATE AN INVITE-ONLY PLACE
• Discord servers are organized into topic-based channels where you can collaborate, share, have meetings, or just talk to friends about your day without clogging up a group chat.
• Send a message directly to a friend or call them up with our voice chat feature
• Voice channels make hanging out easy. Got a free moment? Grab a seat in a voice channel so friends can see you’re around and pop in to talk without having to call. You can even watch videos together!
• Reliable tech for staying close with friends. Low-latency voice and video chat feels like you’re meeting in the same room.
• Easily talk with friends while gaming and steam roll the competition.
• Be a meme messenger with easy image sharing

STAY CLOSE WITH TEXT, VIDEO, AND VOICE CHAT
• Wave hello over video, watch friends stream their games, share stories over voice calls, or gather up and have a drawing session with screen share.
• Snap a photo and turn it into your own custom emojis and share them with friends.
• Share anything from funny videos and stories to your latest group photos, and pin your favorites to remember those moments later.
• Hang out in group channels or talk privately with direct messages
• Zoom through convos with friends using topic-specific channels!

FOR A FEW OR A FANDOM
• Custom moderation tools and permission levels can group up your friends or teams, organize meetings for your local book club, or bring together music fans from around the world.
• Create moderators, give special members access to private channels, and much more.

Having problems with calls.

It mainly happens when I us my phone. Everytime I turn off my phone it hang up the call. It rarely does this but lately it has been bugging a lot. I hope this problem can get fixed in the future But it is still a good app would recommend.

How the mighty have fallen

I started using Discord back in 2017, when it was still somewhat new. It was incredible back then. It let me stay in contact with my friends, both IRL and online. Call quality and ease of use was leagues ahead of the competition, and the UI was simple and intuitive. Oh, how the mighty have fallen. The new UI is absolutely sinful. It used to be an emulation of the desktop version, with a sidebar to the left. At the very top, there was a button to get to all of your direct messages and group chats, and below that were all your servers (Discord’s version of Facebook Groups, for all you boomers out there; Shoutout to my mom). It was simple and effective. Now, in order to switch between the list of servers and the list of DMs and group chats, you have to use a bar at the bottom. Hot take: I honestly wouldn’t mind this, even though it’s a bit less intuitive, in my opinion. That is, I wouldn’t mind it if the UI wasn’t so buggy now. On the topic of bugs, you iOS users have been spared from a lot. I mainly use Android as my main phone, but I use an iPhone 8 Plus as a backup. The Android version has been buggy for a long time now, and now that the new UI is being forced on us, the bugs are quickly coming to iOS, too. My theory is that Discord is trying to innovate and push new features too quickly, and QC is gone. So, if by some insane chance a Discord employee is reading this, just listen to your community, man. The cute little blog and update posts don’t help the fact that you’re clearly not listening to the community at large. Your Play Store ratings have been in the toilet for a while, and if you guys don’t get your act together, iOS is soon to go down the same path. We don’t need voice chat games or a new UI or new Nitro perks. What we need is an app rewrite and more focus on stability. Please, Discord. We love you, but we WILL move to another app if you don’t listen to us. I’ve already migrated, for the most part, and my guild mates are getting pretty crabby.

discord removing negative reviews

last review was removed along with the rest of the community voicing their critique and criticism i see. this is a terrible company who erases all criticism when they receive it. terrible new layout and ignores all feedback about it, even when disabled people speak up about their issues with it and the horrible accessibility that was thrown away with recent updates.
