End of Service Nightmare
Currently I have 20 various DLink products ranging from cameras, alarms, motion detectors, leak detectors, recording devices and wireless outlets collecting dust in my garage because of DLink’s decision to discontinue support and try to get me to upgrade to newer products. Sorry, you lost me permanently as a customer. I put up with the quirky App and the inconsistent ability to connect for long enough, but I’ll be damned if I will replace these products only to be forced to replace them again in 5 years. I have since begun to replace the DLink products with Amazon supported products that not only reliably connect but are motor cost effective. Recently I began shopping for a new router. Guess what brand is off my list?
Waste of Money - New Cameras Not Supported
Tried to get use this with my new cameras because the u-dated app has horrible display limitations. Unfortunately, this better display option won’t work with the new cameras.
8 cameras
I’ve used the app for years. It’s useful for a quick check of the cameras and what they are seeing, but the ability to usefully configure the cameras is limited - you must directly log onto the cameras to do this. For what it does, and the fact it is free, it’s not bad. But be prepared for sketchy links when doing the access remotely.
Always trusted their products
I use several items from dlink for years but lately I noticed there have degraded their hardware,I assume they sent 5hem elsewhere to reduce costs but this app works fine for me and they update on reg7lar basis. I respect their work and hope the old dlink hardware quality returns.
Not consistent!
Looses connections, tells me my camera and iPad are not connected to the same network,WHEN THEY ARE, then error goes away on it’s on. Can’t get motion email notifications after following instructions which seem simple.....
DLink has an very poor web interface.
The screen can only be viewed in one orientation. You can only change the password if physically connected to the camera, which is impossible if the camera is 500 miles away. I could go on and on. Software quality would have been considered poor 10 years ago.
Portrait mode!
The app works well but is only in landscape mode. It really isn't difficult to include this function and if you devs don't know how to do it let me know and I can teach you how to make it work.
