Downhill Racer! Has become worthless!

So buggy and every time I use it it is something new. Tech support lies when they say it will be fixed with update. Just awful. Save yourself money and headaches and look elsewhere.

Bugs galore

The seemingly over engineering of 1Password has introduced bugs, some worse than other. Lately when selecting to editing a password for “Account A”, the opens the edit functionality for “Account B” — different than was selected. If not paying attention there could be serious consequences. I no longer trust the Safari function that prompts to update an existing entry because I have no idea if it will update the correct entry. The Windows app works well but the browser add-ins have become bloated and intrusive. Constant prompts to use saved info or automatically complete fields cannot be disabled for a particular page. It’s all or nothing. Forget exporting your passwords from the apps but it might be possible on the website. Things were going well for a few years with 1PW but lately I’m missing the days when it was a standalone app on my iPhone and backed up to Dropbox.

AutoFill bugs with latest release

I’m a huge fan of the service and app. Has been working flawlessly for me but the latest release broke something on AutoFill. All of a sudden my apps that used to accept the AutoFill suddenly don’t respond when I like the “Passwords” on the Keyboard. This has been running on iOS with latest updates and releases so I am not sure what happened and what it’s doing this. For now my only option is to go to the app and directly copy the password, way more annoying and slow.

1P8 is slower

Every two or three months I give 1Password 8 another try. The change lists are extensive and they’re actively building on it. Every time I return to 1Password 7. The main reason is 1P7 shows a preview of which account it will use before autofilling in Safari, but 1P8 only shows that it will autofill. 1Password 8 is less responsive. 1Password 7 is instantly responding to my taps. 1Password 8 seems to start responding after my finger has already lifted and moved. They sped up the animations to try to hide it, but it’s painfully obvious. I’m on an iPhone 13 Pro, and 1P7 is instant on my phone. It isn’t slow hardware on my end, it’s a less responsive app on their end. If they can get 1P8 responsive, I’ll be happy to update.

Lots of bugs and a lot less usable than 1Password 7

The app is very buggy now. After a search, when I try to open an item it keeps going to some other random item and thinks a change has been made so when I try to go back to the search results it asks if I want to discard my changes. This is very confusing. This app is a huge step back, and is a lot less usable than 1Password 7. The “collections” are confusing and your selection isn’t respected everywhere. Additionally, the app and its extensions done seem to work together very well.

Account recovery is so terrible

I’ve been using 1Password for about a year now. I got rid of LastPass and replaced it with this. I don’t understand why I have to go to the website to do things like account recovery and other features. Everything should be available on every platform. On top of that, I have a family member who forgets their password fairly often. And they are ready to throw their devices in the trash, because 1Password makes it so complicated and frustrating for them to get their password recovered they consider just a nightmare. And I don’t understand why once we’ve recovered the password, and they’ve logged into their Web account on their computer, but if they try to add their mobile device, using the QR code provided on the recovery sheet. It tells them they must log into LastPass. Which requires them entering this long key and their password to get in. They should just be able to scan the QR code and get into the mobile device because they’re already logged into their account on the web. I like most things about this app. But this is so frustrating. I’m seriously consider looking for another product. Drives me crazy.
