Designed by a photographer for photographers, focused on RELIABILITY and PRECISION for digital and analog photography. • Extended sensitivity as low as -2/-4EV (dark scenes) • Two different convenient interface designs. • Incident and reflected light metering modes. • Save exposure data. • f/Tools connection. • Independent calibration for the two metering modes. • Independent selection of aperture, speed, ISO and exposure compensation with 1/3 resolution. From 4 minutes to 1/8000 sec., aperture from 1.0 to 512 and iso from 3 to 6400. • Automatic priority for aperture or speed. (Automatic Av and Tv modes). • Automatic ISO or locked ISO options. • Point metering in camera view. • Maximum aperture limited by the selected lens. • Calculate the average of any number of measurements you want. • Read the exposure data of any photo from the gallery. • Calculate hyperfocal distance for 5 memorized lenses. Which also blocks maximum aperture. • Memory for 5 lenses with maximum aperture, focal length and film/sensor size for calculating hyperfocal distance and aperture. • Hyperfocal distance also for infrared light. (IR button) • Exposure value EV on an analog scale or right up front. • Two LED indicators show whether the measurement is unreliable due to lack of light in the scene, or if we have under 30% battery left. • On 3.5 " displays preset lens buttons tilting the device or tapping at the bottom. • Be advised that accurate incident light reading needs a diffuser attached to the front camera. Without the diffuser still can be used but think about it, it will be a reflected reading taken with the front camera. I'm an independent photographer/designer/developer and am very grateful for your support. Trying to do the best lightmeter app ever, a lot more to come. You can ask for any improvement and I'll be happy to help. This app is constantly reviewed and improved because it is my tool, if you have any questions or suggestions feel free to contact me by email at [email protected] Thank you! David Quiles
Well Done!
Well designed, beautifully executed. Straightforward to use and overall a great experience!
It works but without focal length and spot metering I don’t use it anymore.
I used this with a 50mm lens with good results. Im not sure the actual field of view or focal length this measures but its harder to use and more inaccurate with wider and longer lenses esp with 60/40 meters. I don't understand why the window is a circle when camera sensors are rectangular. The app I use now has a slider you can change the focal length and also has a spot meter to expose for particular regions much more useful.
Great results
I bought this app to use with my Rolleicord V, which has no built in metering. The results have been excellent, and the app was much cheaper than buying batteries for my old Gossen Lunasix. It's quick and intuitive to use, and I like the way I can tap to spot meter a point in the scene.
Works flawlessly. Game changer.
I’m an amateur film photographer with a highly limited short-term memory. This app enables shooting in very odd lighting conditions on cameras with a limited choice of shutter speed (one of my cameras is from the 1940s), and removes the risk that I divide wrong and ruin an exposure.
Works great for Wet Plate Collodion as well
I found that the app has setting for Daguerreotype. Even though collodion isn’t daguerreotype it is pretty close. As a beginning wet plate photographer, I didn’t have the experience to get a good starting exposure. Using this app in daguerreotype mode, I can usually nail the first exposure.
Awesome Light Meter
After testing the light meter through low light conditions in comparison to my Sekonic, the meter is off by 1/3, luckily the app’s settings allow you to include 1/3+ to all future readings. Sometimes I’d forget my meter at home, and this app is going to help a megaton as a backup.
Good meter, dumb feature
As a meter this app works great and I get good exposures, however this app hijacks the audio on my phone, meaning if I am on a photo walk and listening to music every time I open the app my music pauses, then I meter for my shot take the picture and have to go back into Spotify to resume music. I cannot think of a good honest reason why a light meter app should hijack my audio, or interrupt my music… fix this annoying bug and it’s a 5 star app.
