Most recent update is horrible convenient or user friendly.

I stream evening MSNBCprograms on my phone while making dinner. For the past year, when my fave show Reid Out came on, inexplicably, service would freeze every few minutes or every 15 seconds. I'd have to turn off my phone to get it back. Latest upgrade, changed things for the worst. It made it harder to start live streaming and get the image to fill the screen. It offered more links and headlines and junk getting in the way of just turning on the show. Here's the kicker. Today, a few days into the latest update this app suddenly informed me I had to turn off my ad blockers to watch the program I had just brought up. You mean there is an ad blocker that turns of MSNBC's dreadful pharmaceutical ads for erectile dysfunction, female incontinence, the gold mine of life insurance buybacks that show retirees as too ignorant to know what they're "sitting on" but the men working mining jobs are smarter about about? I digress. The answer is no. There is no such ad blocker for TV ads, but MSNBC wants to control the possibiliity that a live stream viewer may wander into the blog or newsletter section and start reading without the barrage of internet ads? MSNBC, you are better than this. Get it together. And stop with the ageist ads that insult half your viewing audience.

I will not stop talking about the horrible changes in this app. Live stream used to open in the app itself after subscriber verification. Now it’s a lengthy subscriber ID EVERY FREAKING TIME, even within a five minute spell and the show stream doesn’t open within the msnbc app itself, IT SWITCHES to open a NEW safari window. With all the logins, you can end up with four or five open safari windows, and you’ll still have to open another one to continue the show. I wonder how many times they’ll delete my review of this horrible new app.

I’d like to use this app but I can’t as I have not received a confirmation email. I received one email from MSNBC, no mention of confirming email, with three headlines on it. I tapped two headlines thinking it might confirm me on app but no, did not. Is it because I’m using my mobile phone? I don’t think that’d be an issue in these times. I tried the prior MSNBC app before this and could not access news on it either. They’d have more viewers if they were accessible.

What on earth was MSNBC thinking?! This app was perfect before this change. Now it’s essentially unusable for those of us who watch it constantly outside of our homes. I have to use Sirius to listen to it instead. Guess where the ad revenue is going? Not to MSNBC! Change it back to what worked beautifully before. It’s useless in the new state. I expect better from MSNBC than this.

Further update: when watching a show in the browser, it is absolutely impossible to fast forward or reverse. There is a teeny little slider button but it doesn't work at all. If you tap the rewind buttons, they disappear after each tap and they don't take you forward or back very far. This whole rollout is completely incompetent. Probably gonna just give up and stop watching it altogether. Update: I finally figured out that the app will open up in a browser on your device for streaming or watching shows. However, IT DOESN’T WORK! And, on the very rare occasions it does work, you can’t mirror the content to your TV! Completely worthless. So basically what I wrote below still stands. There’s NOTHING in the app. Are they trying to prevent us from watching their content? Guess so. Not sure why though. Utter incompetence. Now there’s NOTHING in the app at all. Not a single episode, no live streams of his channel. We’re paying all this money for cable, most of the time I have to watch via the app because I’m not always home, and now there’s NOTHING in the app. What idiot CEO thought it was a good idea to put out an app with nothing in it?!! imbecile. Worthless. Cutting the cord.
