Description
Keep up-to-date with space launches from NASA and other agencies around the world with MissionClock for your iPhone or iPod Touch.

MissionClock shows you a real-time countdown clock for upcoming missions, as well as information about missions that are currently underway. You can see major launch and ascent events as they happen, and receive alerts when mission conditions change.

Features:

• Gorgeous, at-a-glance countdown information
• T-clock and L-clock information
• Countdown holds
• Hold time remaining
• Current and significant event times displayed in multiple time zones
• Detailed mission event lists
• Time to/since each event

MissionClock’s main view shows the current time in three time zones (yours, UTC, and the mission’s). It shows the T-clock, including pauses for built-in launch holds, and the L-clock, letting you know how much real time remains before launch. For missions that have already launched, MissionClock will show you the Mission Elapsed Time (MET).

The MissionClock staff regularly compile space mission information from a variety of sources including contacts within NASA, and collect them on our servers. MissionClock is automatically updated with changes, so you stay informed.

Very Cool! More detail than you probably every need...

This is slick. All sorts of details. I was really hesitant to spend the $4.99 for it but I had heard that he specifically has to make changes by hand as NASA changes timelines. This has PUSH alerts, that means you can get them even when not running the application. And it looks like it keeps track of the push alerts so you can view them later, which is very nice. I'm a pretty techie guy but the info is pretty geeky even for me. It needs a "basic mode" for the less geeky, but interested people. (Honestly, I'd probably use that mode). Two complaints: 1) Civilians don’t necessarily know when day 234 of the year is, an option to turn on “normal” dates would be awesome. 2) In the application, the mission clock pages needs to be linked to the missions page. Clicking the clock title (or something) should take me to the mission page for that mission and clicking the events at the bottom of a clock page should take me to all the events for that mission. They're all there already, they're just too many clicks away. 3) When I get an alert/message I want to be able to click on it and get the clock to quickly pop up. Sometimes the name in the alert doesn’t match the name in the list of missions. There's info on past missions too. The only difference is the clocks aren't ticking.... Maybe some definitions for some of the information or links for more info on the launches (more than what's the overview page). Links to NASA TV to watch? To stream audio?

Working Again

It appears to be actively maintained again. Such a great app.

App continuously crashes

I have not been able to get the app to stay open since iOS 11 deployment. I’ve tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app but click to open and it automatically crashes. :-(

Use caution. Info may not be current.

The last Mission Clock entry for SpaceX was wrong. That launch didn't occur for another week. And the current SpaceX launch event listed by Mission Clock is also wrong. That launch has been pushed back almost two weeks.

Okay but needs more frequent database updates

I really like the concept of the app. While the information isn't exactly presented in the prettiest format possible, there's lots of good timing information there, including specific events within the countdown and after liftoff. However, an app like this is made or broken by the quality and accuracy of its data. Right now, the upcoming TurkmenAlem satellite launch with Falcon 9 is listed as launching in a bit over two days from now. However, the date for this launch was pushed three days back, and this push was made several days ago. I don't expect instant updates, but this launch is the next one on the global manifest! Hopefully the author finds a way to more reliably keep the database in order, otherwise this app is useless. Another recommendation to the developer... I would love a way to enter a clock view on the app where the main countdown dominates the screen. I think events would still deserve a spot somewhere, probably the mission name and maybe some other basic info too.... but clock dominating. Just put it on the wishlist. Glad someone finally made an app like this!

Great idea, although...

This is a great idea and everything, but I'm having an issue (not sure if anyone else is) where the clock doesn't count down unless you tap the screen. My personal opinion, don't waste five dollars on this app. This is a bit of an issue, but it seems to work - for now.
