I have 2 other apps I used that worked but I love this one! It has more settings and features than anything else I’ve ever used. It has everything I need and allows for authenticated podcast which far too few apps do and this is the best of the ones that do

Review iCatcher! Works great on my iPhone 15 Pro Max running iOS 17, and iPad mini 6. I love the shortcuts I can make for this app. Just go to the settings in this app to set it up. This is a very solid app. The person who makes this app updates it often and does an amazing job. I have been using this app for a long time and think it's the best I really like the addition of dynamic text as I use that feature to make the font size large in the accessibility settings on the iPhone and iPad. Btw, I found out I can change the artwork on each podcast. I can pick a photo on my iPhone to add as the photo I will see when I play the podcast Very 😎 I have tried the top podcasting apps and I prefer this one the best. One of the great things about this app is you can really customize this app with a lot of settings, so you can tweak it just the way you like it and you can also use gestures. With gestures you can easily jump backwards, forwards, pause, etc. with the swipe of a finger or double tap anywhere on the screen to pause. It's especially helpful when you're doing other things. Some gestures you can do with this app are the Leo where you do an L or a reverse L to skip ahead or back 2 minutes. Swipe left or right with one finger to go 30 seconds ahead or back. Doing a two finger swipe goes backwards or forwards 1 minute. Double tap to play or pause. There is even a gesture to mark as played, which I enjoy doing 😉 I tried downcast and really tried to like it but I find it very unintuitive, and the way it's organized is not really to my liking. Also this app developer is very responsive. If you have a question or need help, he will get back to you via email from the help button on the bottom. Although within the app you can tap on help and find a lot of information on how to use the app etc. I would suggest looking at that first, cause I found that many of the answers are in there.

United StatesUI issues, and A/V drift out of sync
There is a long standing issue where the audio and video will slowly drift out of sync. At first everything looks fine but a few minutes later you start to notice lips don’t match the words and by 30 mins, the sync is so bad it’s unwatchable. The only way to fix it is to pause and play, use the skip or change the playback speed. I contracted the developer several years ago and he implemented a workaround but as of lately it’s been broken again. I tried following up with the developer and got no response. Also the UI has gotten very cluttered. The way was a year ago was a lot clearer. Once these things are fix the app will be 5 stars again!

This is the only podcast app I’ve found that allows you to set an episode to repeat. That’s the reason I stumbled onto it, but I’ve continued to use it as my primary podcasting app for years because of the continuous development, awesome features, and ease of use. Highly recommend!

<< Update 2/24: went back to the Apple app several months ago; was seriously disappointed, again; returned. >> I’m a heavy consumer of podcasts: audio, video, short form, long form, daily, weekly, monthly, news, entertainment, specialty interest & educational. iCatcher! is easy to set up, easy to use and lets you do pretty much whatever you want in playlist management plus it uses iCloud to sync across several devices. I’ve tried all of the other top podcast apps and still none compare to the features and flexibility of iCatcher!

I love this app, been using it for what seems like 10 years now. I think it was my first podcast player for listening to stuff like the OG radio / podcast show, this american life. We are in badly need of an update though fellas. Its been super glitchy. It takes time to for playlists to show up, or to get to my feed when i first start up the app. Thanks so much for your time and energy! You guys are great! Tony

Add to Playlist; Settings search; Navigate To (opens iCatcher to a particular area like the now playing screen).
