This app will not let me update my unit from my phone tells me there is a network error. So I installed the latest update to 4.070. Now my maps and contours will not show up. Now the app says I need update 4.020. This update is nowhere to be found and I am not able to use my charts maps.

This is by far the most frustrating and confusing technology that I have ever experienced. I read the other reviews about this being difficult but decided to find out for myself. I have the Helix 5 Chirp GPS G2 and wanted to update the maps to show more options for bass fishing. After seeing the hd contours and smart strike feature update options I was excited to try out this technology. To begin this process you will need a computer science degree to update your Humminbird fish finder to see the new maps. This requires buying multiple SD cards until you finally realize that you need a 32gb MICRO sd card to finally work. Then begins the encryption process. To make this miracle work you have to use a separate sd card to update to the newest software before updating to the “other new update”. After this somehow works the new update will allow a sd card to be encrypted. Now you can take the maps bought on this app and finally transfer them to your graph. Now the confusing part begins! Now you have to scroll through all the menu options to figure out where the lake overlay options are located. While doing this, your graph will automatically shut down and reset for no reason when cycling from map source to map source. At this point it is just best to take the graph and throw it away and go with a different brand. I decided to ruin my day even more by trying to continue the ability to use the features I paid for. After somehow finally managing to get the hd contour maps to work I tried my luck with smart strike. WRONG! What a joke. The smart strike feature does not adjust to the water offset levels. After all this frustrating time spent on this feature I learned that this was a huge waste of time. I will never buy a another Humminbird product based on this disaster. Oh and this app is hit or miss if it wants to load the he maps or verify your process.
