Big improvement over mechanical metronome!
Very easy to use! You can change timing and pattern very quickly. Best feature is that the first beat of the measure has a slightly different tone, so you can figure out if you’re slipping or not. Or speeding up, which is what I often do. Also, the visual is good. Little dots, lighting up sequentially. It has really helped me to move toward a steadier tempo.
The perfect metronome app
This is the perfect app for working musicians, teachers and students. Easy to jump on board yet deep enough that I keep discovering features years after I first started using it. My current favorite feature is the Automator: start at a certain tempo and increase (or decrease) the tempo by a fixed amount every X minutes. A must for drum rudiments practice. My second favorite feature is the integration with iOS/iPadOS: (1) you can set it to disable the screen lock while in operation (2) you can start/stop operation by covering the ambient light detector (3) it works seamlessly with the system sound. This means you could be watching a video on your favorite streaming app or listen to a podcast while you practice.
Save your money - needs a serious update!
This app hasn’t had an update in over a year, so if you try to email out your list(s) to share or for backup the app crashes! When you have multiple set lists consisting of hundreds of entries each, you’re screwed if you can’t have a back up!
It's great
I'm a sax player and it great I us it a loy
Limited in a key way
Unless I am much mistaken, there's no way on this app to add a song to a playlist unless you have an MP3 of the song on your phone. In other words, you want to create a playlist that contains your origianal song "Song X" with a bpm of 98. You simply can't do it. The app won't let you type the name of the song and assign it a tempo. Instead, it goes looking through your phone by a song with that name, and if it can't find it, you can't add it to the playlist. This is just insane to me.
Great tool
Use regularly to pace my scale work and alternate picking speeds. Easy to use, reliable and a great help. Dan Roberts - Encinitas school of Music.
Needs a serious update!
I paid for this app and have it on a few iPads and since the more recent iOS updates, when I try to email lists it just crashes the app! Until this is fixed I can’t recommend using this! I have dozens of set lists with hundreds of entries in each, if I can’t email out a backup then I’m screwed if I lose it all!
