Create fully customizable note sets and easily send them home to students. - Fun Themes Engage with fun themes that don't get in the way of learning, or opt for traditional notation. Landmarks: The best way to learn your notes --------------------------- Note Rush fits with all teaching methods, whether you favor a purely intervallic approach or use traditional mnemonics! We promote learning key landmark notes then reading adjacent notes intervallically for the best results in learning to read piano notation. Note Rush features a unique landmarks-based hints system (optional) that highlights nearby landmark notes to read intervallically from. Over time students naturally move from reliance on landmarks to a more intrinsic staff-to-keyboard association. Preset and Custom Levels --------------------------- Use preset note ranges or create your own set of levels to suit your teaching style. Create a personalized level to target a particular student’s needs. - Individual Note Selections - Sharps and Flats - Treble, Bass or Grand Staff (alto and tenor coming soon) - Up to Six Ledger Lines - Send custom note reading drills using App Links or QR Codes
Changed from 2 stars to 4
When I submitted my first review, I was not yet aware of the ‘Level Designer’ feature and I rated the app at just 2 stars. However, now that I’ve used the app for several months, including the level designer to create custom exercises, I am much more pleased with the app. It is still true that the sensitivity of the app at recognizing notes is not always great, as described in depth in other reviews, nonetheless, I think it works sufficiently well to make this app worthwhile using. It is helping me become a more proficient note reader, and I’m enjoying using it. For users of digital pianos, like me, if the app isn’t picking up the notes correctly with the default sound (grand piano in my case) you might try using a different type of sound, like an electric piano, or some other instrument that gets sensed more accurately by the app.
Note rush
Helps so much for my daughter learning her notes her teacher recommended it😀.
Good start, needs more features, limited and not updated enough
This is a great start but missing critical features and doesn’t get enough updates. No iCloud synch between devices. No ability to configure repetitions or standard scales, arpeggios, or modes. Quite a bit missing.
Great app for my students
I have used this app for several years. I love the upgrades made and appreciate getting them with no charge. I didn’t even realize the price had increased until a new student downloaded the app. The only frustration I have experienced is the inconsistency with being able to hear the tone played. It confuses my students because, they don’t know if they’ve played an incorrect note or it just wasn’t played loud enough.
Not hearing notes
Sometimes it takes a little bit to recognize the note I am playing.
Good start but highly limited and updated infrequently
This desperately needs the ability to repeat the exercise automatically for a set user-defined configuration. Simply getting every note once and then having to restart the challenge is pretty unacceptable. Conversely, rather than repetition, set a predefined number of notes or a set period of time that the user can configure. This app would be monumentally more useful if the user could set a specific exercises for 100 notes or 15 minutes. The current design has too much friction to get the requisite number of repetitions a student needs to learn. This is a good base but PLEASE do not abandon this and get it over the line.
