Bait and Switch
23andMe’s new business model is horrible. As an early adopter, I was excited to get new results. Now they require you to get a subscription to get the valuable information. 23andMe doesn’t care about its customers, otherwise the company would let you know this information instead of putting it behind a paywall after paying so much to get the service. I cannot recommend this service or company.

I purchased both Ancestry dna and 23andMe, but my preference is 23andMe due to the user friendly way it connects you to your dna relatives. I don’t have to type messages to connect like some of the other genetic companies, and 23andMe gives a prospective relative an option to respond or don’t. I also like the health data and reports, which some GAT companies doesn’t provide. I have purchased a kit for my maternal mom and my two sisters. Finally, I like the (Find Relatives in Common) tool that shows prospective relatives.

United States23andMe has depth to its reports
I was an early user of 23andMe and have found it to be a great tool for health and heritage ! Great health reporting as approved by the FDA. Great connections to newly revealed family members (only w their approval).

When opening the 23andMe app it said they were requiring me to change my password and I should click the link to change the password. The link took me to a webpage that asked for my email. After submitting I received an email that had a link to reset my password. I clicked the link in the email which took me to a website that asked for an authentication code from the app. I cannot open the app because it is forcing a password change. I’m stuck.

I just went through the whole registration process, entered the barcode information, and answered a ton of questions. I’ve already mailed my kit and thought I’d just look in the app. Now it says I haven’t completed the registration process and need to register my kit which I already have. I’ve already mailed it so I can’t enter the barcode anymore. Frustrated after I did all that and answered all those questions.
