Abysmal
This game has turned into an on-line gambling app. Before, I could choose which spell or gear piece I wanted to work on. Any purchases went toward that particular game piece. I leveled many spells and gear to the highest allowed by the game. Then, the Dev’s did reworks, completely changing the game’s character and costs. Now, my top level spells and gear are no longer apex. There are several more levels above them. Improvements to the top level are not within my control. Yes, the gamer has no control over what spell or gear piece they want to level up. This is now random. Additionally, the obtaining of the better spell or gear costs money. A lot of money. And, a lot of time. Any enjoyment I had is gone. Now just trying to get my gear improved is drudgery. In the end, the Dev’s have created a game that gobbles up your hard earned cash with no reward to you. You have no control anymore and have to spend a lot more. Abysmal.

It’s nothing like it used to be. You expect a game like “Gems of War” but with the OG mechanics and map travel. This is an embarrassment p2w version of the once beloved franchise. Devs are greedy and evil. Avoid this game like plague.

I regret installing and playing this game for as long as I did, every week there is an update to delay your ability to grow or progress, and to make it harder to get anything even if you spend hundreds of dollars, luckily I did not

The game is really fun and I enjoyed the gameplay. The biggest thing that made me stop is my phone battery would die very quickly and would get very hot. I lowered all the settings and this still occurred. Wish they could fix this cause would love to pick the game up again.

This company is without a doubt after your money but not willing to give you any value for it. This last “event” is another prime example a brainless game construction. The prize was a famed ring. The challenge was to do 3 steps, consisting of a series of battles at each step. The time limit was 3 days. So I began the series. You cannot tell what the next requirement is until you finish the first series. The first series was to win 150 battles. Whew. Did it. Then learned the next step was to win 300 battles. Gads! Did it. The next step was to win 1000 battles! Total of 1450 battles over 3 days! Several players did calculations that showed this was next to impossible, but marginally doable. There were lots of complaints, but it was the weekend and the thought was the Dev’s were not available until Monday, after the competition was over. Very few of us finished that event. Call us diehards or crazy, we earned that famed ring. Then, come Monday, the Dev’s said they made a mistake and to make it fair they gave 4 rings to everyone. Those of us who expended innumerable time, resources and gave up a whole weekend got the same 4 rings to add to the 1 ring we earned, and nothing else. That just shows the limited thought that Dev team is capable of producing. But this is / was not unique to this game. Rather this was another glaring example of a callous customer service and money hungry business

Forums have complained for years. Devs don't listen. Epic runes and scrolls (mid tier) are very low drop rate, making most items and spells forever stuck at mid evolution, despite overflowing with top tier components. Not fun once you max level. Especially if you spent money getting there.

Grabbed this game because I was looking for a puzzle game with a bit of plot that doesn’t collect ridiculous amounts of data. This game fits the bill and is fun - I could see myself getting deeply invested - but for one serious flaw. The game overheats my phone within minutes of opening it, even if I’m not playing a level. Battery goes from full to nothing insanely fast. The devs are apparently aware of the issue; the community forums have been talking about the problem since Jul ‘23 and it’s listed as a known issue on the support site. But there’s no indicator that it is being worked on (and it is now Feb ‘24). I’ll check back in with subsequent updates but this game is not fun enough to kill my phone over.
