Where is NeoJungle?

I would like to have NeoJungle and Dancer restored to this game. I purchased them years ago and it was stripped out when the developer re-made this game. As for the remake. A near perfect game I played many times a day became a train wreck. Interface is now dark and NOT like the screenshots on the App Store. That is the old classic and beloved look and interface. The buttons have shrunk and no longer have the “comic book” look and feel of the old ones. They are also too small on the IPad. The colours and tiles look so bad and different from the game I love. The positive reviews prior to 2021 show you the love this game had. My son is a computer game developer and when he saw what these people to the game were did he couldn’t believe they could treat their fans this badly. The fix? Restore the game to the 2021 interface. Introduce NEW armies. We will buy them. As for this current iteration, save your money. Buy the board game instead.

What happened???

I used to love this app. They did some overhaul, and now it’s not great.

Playable, but lacking.

Took a look today to see how far the game has developed since revamping graphics. Animated elements work, but sometimes distract from game play. Wondering if support for 3 or 4 players will ever return.

Big step back

This was one of my favorite IOS board games and I unlocked a lot of sets and really enjoyed it. Then it was “updated” in a way that took away many features and seriously degraded the experience. Some of my favorite armies that I paid for are gone and while there are new graphics they aren’t really better and the ability to play against more than one ai is gone. This was an app that worked well and had good ai and matchmaking and now it’s not. Disappointing. Wish I could role it back.

Good game- lousy art/ sound

I've been playing this game for years- really good on every strategy level, complexity of play and so on, but the graphics stink and sound FX are just the same for every army and every action... the files sound like they were cut and pasted from a free online sound bank. The graphics are individually good, but are way too detailed for phone scale, and they don't play well with one another or the over laid buff symbols - makes for a murky playing field. It's so busy and overlaid sometimes it's difficult to see which way the units are facing. These two gripes have been bothering me since the beginning- was hoping the devs would've spent some effort improving this aspect of the game, as they added armies and tweaked the game play over the years

Downgrade to Previously Great App

I’m really confused by the facelift this game got. There are now glaring quality of life problems that never existed. I’ll list some below: -Excessive clicking/tapping. For some reason, you have to tap on the screen at the start of every turn. To throw away a tile each turn, it usually requires multiple taps. It asks you “if you’re sure” when withholding a tile at turn end, when starting a battle, etc. After placing tiles, sometimes you have to randomly tap on the screen a few times until the panel with the continue button appears (which requires another tap in and of itself). -Egregious UI mistakes. You now need to dig through the rulebook via the main menu to see what each faction does. Really strange. This is true even when selecting factions. You don’t even get to see their names. In game, you can’t access what your tiles do without existing to main menu and digging through the rulebook; getting to the rules your after is several UI levels deep. Another note: the tile viewing and toss out at the beginning of each turn only works if your iPhone is oriented one way (due to the phone’s bezel). -Strange, not thought out rule changes. They added a “unlucky” rule. I believe now if you draw three non-unit tiles you can redraw (after a few clicks). This would be okay, but it just does not make sense with some factions, including at least one of the base four. If playing green, you will be asked incessantly, which feels like you can very unfairly dig through your tile pool. -Nitpick: the way they now display damaging during battles is clunky and unnecessary. No need to see all the added up damage followed by an explosion animation. It should revert to how the previous app did it.

Held out to upgrade until now, but still strong!

I hadn’t purchased a lot of content, and the game seems to work pretty much like the earlier version. Some of the UI is better, IMO. The bots’ IQ still seems good, too. Thanks!
