Description
Self Care with Houseplants
Kinder World is an emotional wellbeing game designed to help users better respond to their own emotions through gentle gameplay and a wholesome story. You’ll get to grow your own virtual houseplants by completing simple mindful check-ins with yourself for no more than 2 minutes a day, twice a day.

Self-care and habit-forming can feel frustrating or even punishing at times, especially for neurodivergent, disabled, and chronically ill people. That’s why Kinder World is built upon a judgment-free ethos. We recognize that emotional wellbeing and mental health are non-linear and deeply personal journeys, so our mechanics, narrative, and community have all been designed to support that.

Step into the Woodlands, Kinder World’s virtual universe, where kindness literally makes the world go around. The Woodlands is a judgement-free space, where you’re invited to be your authentic self and feel your emotions fully - no matter how painful or pleasant your feelings may be.

You’ll begin your emotional wellbeing journey in your very own Woodlands home, but there’s a whole world waiting for you outside when you’re ready. Just by noticing and naming your emotions, you’ll gain the power to choose what to do with those emotions. As you practise naming your emotions every day, you’ll develop the skills to respond to your feelings and continue growing.

Join our cast of friendly NPCs and our welcoming player community on a comforting journey toward enhanced emotional intelligence. Complete short, daily activities inspired by arts & crafts, decorate all sorts of cozy rooms, and slowly unlock compelling stories about Kinder World’s setting and characters.

Proud winner of the Australian Game Developer Awards 2022.

Immersion Breaking

If it was just lofi music, watering the plants, and the emotion jar, it would be a great game. But the constant pop ups and that annoying dog Samy ruined it.

Best game ever!!!!

I have played many games before, but not like this one. This game makes me happy and I like the cards. I also like the feelings box and all kinds of different plants. 5 ⭐️, would definitely recommend. Lizzy-8041.

Don’t Hesitate!! Just install it!!

As a recovering addict with severe ADHD, I find it super hard to stick to a routine. I get stuck in ADHD paralysis more often than I care to admit. I’ve tried all of the other apps that are supposed to be cozy and chill and I always get flooded with ads which can stress me out even more. I understand the need for ads, but to be spammed by them is another story. The devs in this game are very genuine and understand that if they take care of their community, we will take care of them. Therefore, they don’t need ads. When my 19-yr old son told me to download this, I honestly laughed. Like, yeah right. I downloaded Finch, paid for a year subscription, took care of him for a week and haven’t seen or heard from him since. I’m sure he’s probably run off by now to be with someone who takes better care of themselves 😂🤦🏽‍♀️ But I downloaded Kinder World, despite that, because my son assured me it was different than anything he’s ever seen. And he was right! This app/game is a total game changer and really is great for self love/wellness. I love everything about it, from the amazing dev team, all the way down to the art! The only thing I would ask for is more of it! I know it’s still very early on though so I’m sure they’re cooking up some great updates for us! Despite only needing to play twice a day, I find myself checking in on my plants from time to time throughout the day! It’s just so calming and cozy and really does help ground me when I’m struggling! THANK YOU devs for being selfless enough to create such an amazing FREE app to help others! Y’all are angels! Sending all the love & light ☀️

Fun at first

Enjoyed the early play but it quickly became repetitive. I can grow three different plants now but I had to grow at least three of the same plant before getting the next one. Decorations are rewarded for unlocking but are mainly locked behind a expensive paywall along with different pots. I do not get any prompts for the “pathword” feature. Being able to pan the rooms after the decoration update is cool but I can’t scroll through my items without moving something in the foreground now,

Pretty game, annoying and possibly dangerous

My friend wanted me to do this with her but frankly most of the notes are annoying at best. Plants are cute, everything else is like a failed therapy session for children. I'd also highly recommend against this game if you're having any sort of identity crisis or real mental health problems because a lot of the users are just encouraging unhealthy ideas with their messages. By the notes I've received, a lot of people are clearly treating this as group therapy with strangers and that's actually dangerous for some mental problems.
