Glitchy!!
This app will not work to smartcast! I watch catfish cast it by the time the first wave of 5 min commercials is over the video goes to not available or not available anymore. I reload it for it to show me yet ANOTHER 5 min of commercials and it happens multiple times in an episode it’s ridiculous.

The fact that so many people have given the same exact review and nothing is being done to fix the ad problem is infuriating. Like everyone else… I watch 6 minutes of ads for 2 minutes of content.. they play ads just for you to watch credits after and realize the episodes already over which is pointless!! The cherry on top is if I try to AirPlay from my phone it conveniently says the video isn’t available? Trash.

With terrible buffering, repetitive ads, and a 40 minute ad load per hour there are almost no redeeming qualities about the MTV app. Trying to cast to another device makes things unwatchable with the stream breaking any time ads need to load.

The app used to be great. I could watch my shows in the Picture in Picture mode and I could still do what I was doing before hand. Ever since the update, when an ad comes up, it will pause and I have to stop what I am doing to open it to full screen and then wait for 8 minutes while the ads play, then I can go back to what I was doing when the show comes back on. It is unpractical now. I’m so far behind on my shows because I don’t have time for all the ads. I don’t mind watching ads, I get that’s how they make their money. But to make it to where I have to watch the ads in full screen…. You have lost me as a customer.

This app use to be amazing. Idk what they did but now it wont stream without stopping 5 mins in and will never come back on! If i use it to watch jersey shore (not streaming to my tv), there’s commercials then the recap then commercials then the theme song then commercials! I watch 6-7 mins of commercials before i even see the actual episode. I need to find a different way to watch my shows without this awful app!

It’s painful to have to sit through so many ads just to watch a show. MTV definitely has the most ads out of all the streaming apps out there. You have to sit through 3 mins of ads for every 5 mins of content you watch.

I only got through 1 minute of the show I was watching and by that time I had already been through the 5-6 ads rounds five times. So ten minutes of ads for one minute of a show. I think it’s a glitch. Just too frustrating. Ads come on non stop instead of at the scheduled time along the way.
