United StatesApp works with Shimano E-Bike motors (EP8, E8000, E7000, E6100, E5000) via Bluetooth.
Allows:
- Get E-bike information (total distance, battery health and etc)
- Change assist settings
- Change gearing type (mechanical, electrical) and chainrings size
- Presets for quick setups of your bike
- Other features depending on bike's firmware
Warning: the new EP801 and EP6 motors do not support changing advance settings (region, circumference). All other motors with the latest firmware do not support changing advanced settings via Bluetooth.

I did the firmware downgrade then it bricked my unit, I was still able to "do the settings" apparently which were not saved or applied despite saying "success". To get the bike working again I had to do the update again which was VERY SCARY, I thought I killed the bike. While it's a cheap app, it didn't save any settings it said it did.
Outstanding feature rich for Shimano. I have used this on 2 separate ebikes. I have found the developer responds quickly to questions, etc After a bit of research, hands down ST Unlocker is tops. I encourage anyone to review and realize what is required, e.g. you MUST purchase a premium license to unlock all the features.
Great app, I only have the basic one. Thinking about getting the full licence but I'm not very good with technology. How difficult is it to install???
I got into trouble trying to connect to a bike I'd purchased that had STU loaded. With assistance from the STU developer i soon got it all working. TIP: Once u use E-tube app to establish a NEW connection between your phone and the bike, do NOT OK E-Tube to upgrade the motor firmware, as it will load a more modern version that will kill the Premium version of STU. Stick with the existing motor firmware!
E035 error after following instructions and firmware update loaded onto bike successfully. Basic app works but premium involves loading an unverified apk file (Android) then adding .dat files within filesystem. Fiddly setup and ultimately didn't work. EP8 RS motor. --== update: thanks for the feedback. haven't had time to tinker with it - will update soon ==-- UPDATE: Finally got around to troubleshoot again. Emailed the developer of the app and resolved it. Quick response. Kudos.
Cheapest way to derestrict Shimano bikes at 32€, faster than Shimano's own apps, comprehensive statistics of your bike usage, black box log and an active dev that responds within hours. Simply the best!
