Origins of Pool when people use the term "Cue Sports," usually about one of the three games: Snooker, Pool, and the final of the three, Snooker, has also been adopted as a general term to encompass games played using the cue. The game of Snooker is a cue sport that emerged in its modern form in the late 19th century, tracing its roots back to a state of English billiards dating back to the 16th-century forms of English billiards.
