* Requires Android 5.0+ and a fully compliant Camera2 implementation. Currently only LG Nexus 5 and Motorola Nexus 6.
** Requires Android 5.0+. Compatible as well on the Samsung Galaxy Camera (1 and 2), Galaxy S4 Zoom and HTC One (M8). Permissions explained:
- Approximate location and precise location: only used for geotagging functionality (disabled by default, and requires manual GPS activation).
- Modify or delete the contents of your USB storage and take pictures and videos: required for the usual camera operation.
Confusing
It enhances the photo and camera! BUT ... If your phone comes with a good camera app, you don't need camera fv-5 , but sometimes fv-5 works very well !!
Shutter speed is not changing at all manually for pixel 8.
Excellent
Works almost flawlessly. Using LineageOS 21 experimental (Android 14) on my Galaxy S10+. Everything works flawlessly except buggy photo deletion. It can save on any location, including MicroSD. It autorotates pictures even with autorotation on phone set off. DNG raw works too. Now for the buggy deletion - the photos are deleted. However, they remain in the app's memory despite being deleted. To fix this, delete picture, enter gallery again, delete the photos from list and force kill the app.
Emulating a SLR is challenging. The default shutter speed is 1/1200 sec. , so you almost never see what you want to shoot until you change it, and change is difficult, because the exposure compensation slider always gets in the way. The worst feature is mandatory bracketing. I don't need three RAW and three jpegs every time I press the shutter. I need one DNG image. In addition, the long shutter lag makes it useless for moving subjects. Except in full daylight everything is desatutated.
I've always enjoyed this camera. But on my Samsung A70 the image is always over exposed even before capturing it. How can I set this?
- Added additional Android 12 and 13 support. As part of this, the app now requests specific permissions for accessing photos and videos but nothing else, enhancing privacy.
- Other smaller fixes.
