How to use the app?
USB Mode
- Plug in the USB to your device (in case of tablet use an OTG cable), when prompted make sure you allow HUR to be the default app for the action and you check the always box.
- If you are running the app on a device with Android 7.0 or higher, you might need to pull down the notification bar and select the connected USB device before the app starts (this is device dependent)
Wifi
- Install WiFi Launcher app on the phone!
- In WiFi Launcher select the cars BT, so app starts automatically
- Enable hotspot option in WiFi Launcher, connect your car's unit to the phones hotspot and open HeadUnit Reloaded (you can reverse the hotspot / client roles as well if you wish)
Self Mode (when Android Auto and HUR are running on the same device)
- Open HUR and press Self-mode (make sure you have Android Auto installed on the device you are trying to achieve this)
FAQ / Troubleshoot
All I get is a black screen
- If you are using an Android powered headunit (Joying, Xtrons, etc) look for a setting on your device which allows Video Playback during drive
- Try changing HUR settings and enable Software decoding
Compatible with: Joying, Eonon, Grom Vline, Xtrons, PX5 and PX3 units, A-Sure, RK3188 units, RK3066 units, Avin and other Android powered head units.

Zfold 5 and Galaxy tab s8 plus. Great idea. Got it work wired and wireless but does not keep working. Way too much time and trouble. Im done. $5 and a lot of messing around.
Keep crashing via usb and wifi mode
I'm using this app in my nexon Audio volume sometimes high and sometimes low And next track screening control only works when we enable Bluetooth for both audio and calls Is any way to fix this
Something is wrong with the app. You have to connect the cable disconnect the cable and only on the second launch it will fire up.
Works perfectly for me
Works very well, much better than z-link, ever since the android auto v10 update. However, with the standard settings in wifi-launcher, the connection is seamless with the headunit, BUT, on my S24 ultra, the phone stops using LTE/4G/5G internet, hence I cannot use the internet, but can use downloaded songs etc. Not sure if this is an issue with my settings or perhaps my phone. But otherwise works okay đź‘Ť
Hi Headuhit team, prior to the update the app working absolutely fine. But once I updated the Android auto in my mobile is connecting but headunit is not showing my mobile screen. Please help with this issue.
- Changed WiFi connection mode
- Fixed at least on USB connection bug
- Reverted to separate Activity for playback, fragments caused black screen after reverse on some devices
- Added option for AAC audio instead of PCM (helps with slow wifi connections)
