United StatesFolderSync enables simple sync to cloud based storage to and from local folders on the device SD cards. It support a wide range of different cloud providers and file protocols, and support for more platforms are added continuously. Root file access supported on rooted devices.

FolderSync contains a full file manager, that enables you to manage your files locally and in the cloud. Copy, move and delete your files in your cloud/remote accounts. Support for creation/deletion of buckets in Amazon S3. Upload and download files from the phone. It's all supported.

Permissions
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION
Optional permission that can be granted if Foldersync should detect SSID name on Android 9 or newer.
ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE
Needed to determine current network state
ACCESS_WIFI_STATE
Needed to access info about the current WiFi state (SSID etc.)
CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE/CHANGE_WIFI_STATE
These two are needed to be allowed to turn WiFi on and off
CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE
Needed to autodiscover WebDAV, SMB, FTP and SFTP servers using Bonjour/UPNP protocol
INTERNET
Needed to access the internet connection to send and retrieve files
READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE/WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE
Needed to read and write files from and to SD card
RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED

Good until Android 13 file permissions add it a nightmare to backup internal SD cards with this. Now it's just a constant battle with "To protect your privacy you can't do this....". The whole point of this was for me to not have to thin about missing backing up files on my phone, not have to manually add every file and hope something isn't missing.
Nextcloud upload worked fine but was broken sometime within the last year.
Using it for several years now. Constantly improving and reliable.
This program works weird. Sometimes works, sometimes not.. Don't understand that once I can sync my data on 13.03.2024 and after several days I can't, although I didn't make any changes in app, or in folders.. Unknown to me to determine problem..
This software is too good only if can add auto file rename because some time long file name can't sync
Please consider to add the ability to change the files name (photo) using EXIF date/time (i.e.custom file name)
Latest upgrade to their "new" V2 sync is a fail. Stopped syncing. Should we expect something else? That seems to be the standard now. Update: okay, we we CAN pick with sync engine to use, but only during folder pair setup. But not after it's established. V2 doesn't work for any of our devices, so beware.
