Simple app which allow users to project Android Auto using Tesla's built in browser.
German version can be located: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=it.cpeb.tesaa.germany
Since Tesla browser prohibits usage of RFC 1918 network address, the VpnService is used to allocate a real public IP to the phone. No traffic is redirected through the VPN, the VpnService is solely used for IP allocation purpose.
Your Tesla needs to have support for hardware accelerated video for this app to work. All Tesla's supporting Netflix/YouTube/Disney+ should be able to use this app.
- To use the app make sure you select the Tesla's BT from the list of BT devices,
- Connect the Tesla WiFi to the phones hotspot
- Open browser on Tesla and navigate to: www.androidwheels.com
- Make sure your audio source is set to BT

On Samsung S23. Aleady set my hotspot, available while driving on Model Y 2024. Android Auto shows up for few seconds in high definition , then it crashed. Never got it to work again. UPDATE: Tried different phone, with Pixel 8. This makes 1000 times better. Doesn't crash, only flicker once in a while. Music keep playing uninterrupted. Doesn't need to start service manually from TesAA app as well. Downside is Hotspot stays on all the time, eating my quota and phone is hotter. Bump to 4 stars.
Doesn't work with 2024 Model 3. The browser is disabled as soon as you put the car into drive making the app useless.
It's a lot more lag in the app. Didn't like it much. Hoping to get my money back that I paid. I would say it's not compatible with tesla. As it makes software to go very slow.
Works quite well based on my first few tests. It's not buttersmooth but that's also not what I expected. More than good enough to run something like Waze on the screen.
Great app but make sure its fully disabled when using summon.
Needs a powerful phone with a powerful wifi and not friendly for battery, but works fine.
Great workaround. However it consumes an insane amount of data from phone. Just 2 trips took away 4gb from my data.
- Added option for RAW PCM playback over browser.
This will provide better audio quality, however it will only be available when the browser is in foreground and will use more CPU and WiFi bandwidth.
