Less and less features, More and more ads
I used to love getting on Scruff… But now it’s a giant BKDR ad at the top of the screen that reappears even though you X out of it. Ads aggressively popping up with every few clicks. More fake profiles than ever. Scruff’s browsing experience isn’t fun anymore. *Edit (5/15/24) I contacted support in the app. Scruff’s response was to make it so you can’t X out of the BKDR ad. Thanks for making ads even more intrusive, Scruff. That’s the complete opposite of what we asked for, but sure… Still wondering why there are so many fake profiles though.
Discriminative
Like every other app keen to white people or white looking necessities, they always put them on top, it’s ironic how they always require diversity to make their next big step in political arguments, and to push new lgbtq+ laws but moment they get what they want they’re wiping their backsides with those same people of color, and tossing it down the toilet once they get what they want, nothing new after 10 years of witnessing this nonsense, and it’s very unfortunate for those who came before me that all their hard work doesn’t pay off for them included, doesn’t help that there are people of color so mentally lost that they self loath themselves, and will side with the same very people that are solely in it to use them just to feel included, which doesn’t make it better for ones like myself that don’t want to be just an object for benefiting only one certain culture of people.
Why won’t Scruff listen to users requests anymore?
“ExClUsIvE oFfErS aRe InTeNdEd To Be PaRt Of ThE SCRUFF eXpErIeNcE” translates to “we don’t care about your review, go buy Pro.” I would love to have the old Scruff back. The Scruff that listened to users’ requests instead of leaving the same generic “contact us on our support page in the app” response that all these other reviews have gotten. I have contacted Scruff on the support page and nothing has happened or changed. The BKDR ads are taking up half the screen. Not only that, but X’ing out of the ad doesn’t do anything because when you navigate away and then back to the page you were on the giant ad pops back up and takes up half the screen again. I can’t believe any marketing member at Scruff would think this is a good idea. In addition to the gigantic ads there are also 3-4 other pop-up ads that happen when the app is opened, prompting a “this is really annoying, I’m just gonna close the app and move on” reaction. It’s like using Windows XP again with all the ads and pop-ups. I’m positive that isn’t the reaction the Scruff team is hoping to garner with all these ads, and I’m sure I’m not the only Scruff user that reacts this way. Scruff was probably the best hookup app, but now I’m closing it the moment I see the BKDR ad. Is this a marketing ploy and is it actually working? I’d truly love to know. Scruff just isn’t fun anymore, and the Pro version is WAY too expensive. Scruff just keeps taking features away or adding more ads and then saying the feature they took away is for Pro members only. Or only Pro members will see “less” ads (and even then the BKDR ad will still always be there). It’s a shame to watch what was once the best hookup app dig it’s own grave.
Dead by Greed
Scruff is so limited by GREED, it’s totally stale dead in Los Angeles. First you get bombarded by very agressive Ads, than misled with profiles that are 6K miles away. Your local grid is filled with FAKE PROFILES and overly limited by Scruff paywalls $$$ you will just waste your time. Your profile views will be as sparse and sporadic than the reviews about this dead App. Lastly, Scruff takes your conversations HOSTAGE for money $$$ which is totally disturbing and disgusting. The Developer Response that Scruff is “Rich in features” is beyond lame and made to shame and hide users reviews tells a lot.

Adds for Pro subscribers
I have a poor review because adds keep showing up in the global view as a pro subscriber. You asked me to reach out to support and I did. I was told that they would consider my recommendation and closed the ticket. Not helpful at all. My pro subscription has been canceled as a result and I will not spend another dime on scruff unless you remove adds.
