I originally wrote a bad review due to perceived glitches. I figured out my problem! My phone is connected to the wifi at work, and it is a secure connection and does not allow certain websites, even on my personal phone! When I use it outside the office, it is just fine!

The new update is terrible. I have been using groupme for over 10 years and this is by far the worst update to any app that I can remember. The app is so slow. We do not not need 15 emoji expressions for a comment. Now we have to hold the comment to like? No thanks. Give us back the hearts next to the comment. If we swipe right to get out of a chat it sets up a reply, really frustrating. You took a simple and effective app for communicating and made it complex and frustrating to use. Please reconsider these changes.

I’ve used GroupMe for four years now and it’s been a relatively enjoyable experience. In the past few weeks, an update was released that makes the app almost unusable. There is no lines to differentiate between messages, and the like mechanics are absolutely unbearable. I’ve enjoyed GroupMe most of the time, but this new update has made the app incredibly frustrating.

I don’t understand why this team continues to roll out new features rather than focus on the many bugs that have plagued this app for years. The #1 priority should always be a stable group chat experience. There are so many caching-esque issues that prevent messages from loading in a multitude of scenarios. I constantly have to kill the app and reload to see certain messages- most often for messages that come in while the chat is open. This has been going on for years. On top of this, multiple features of the polls have been broken for years. Image search has always been poor but now >50% of images won’t load. Persona avatars and live typing unstable. Preview integration with instagram links has never really worked. Also I’ve never seen a place I can easily report a bug besides “give feedback”, which I have no idea if this is a dead end.
