Despite previously having on screen button controls. This game now forces you to use swipe controls for no reason. It also bombards you with ads which I was willing to forgive for a Tetris game made for the iPhone format but now just use Delta.

It was good for months although the ads are annoying. But, it would start to randomly minimize and open my browser and a tab that looked like a virus! I deleted the app immediately…. Sad because I like Tetris.

UPDATE 3.1 just 4 minutes later I just realized that this version has not changed at all and is still the worst version of Tetris I have ever ever seen. My confusion seems to have been caused by Apple Arcade. As I am using a trial membership, I saw Tetris and wanted to give it another shot. The arcade version of Tetris is what my updated review is based on. I don’t know how I feel knowing there are two different versions of the same gain based on whether you pay a monthly fee or harassed and assaulted by Pop up ads. I’m genuinely disappointed. UPDATE 3.0: 17MAY2024 It appears the game has undergone another massive refit. This version is an improvement on many levels but still wax the core game. There is one song that is similar to the original music, but the rest is a bunch of unknown artists or possibly even AI music because it’s terrible. adding some kind of beat Saber guitar hero element was interesting but the touch controls on the iPad like it’s predecessors just don’t work well. This version seems to have been crafted for a cell phone sized screens and really should not be available on iPad since it does not utilize entire screen. The controls and animations seem a little twitchy and glitchy. I had realized Tetris was updated only a week or two ago and after giving it another shot, I immediately went on eBay. After checking a few listings I found in original game boy with the original Tetris for $60 and I now have Tetris. this updated version of Apple Tetris is an improvement but, I just don’t enjoy playing it UPDATE july 13,22: I decided to try this game again due to what I now suspect is a fake review. Nothing has changed. It’s still paywall garbage and packed with ads. As soon as I started the app I had to tell it not to track me. I selected airplane mode in an attempt to block the ad, but they must be stored on the device because an ad popped up when I selected a game to play. I immediately closed the app and came to update my review before deleting this app AGAIN. There’s a mediocre clone in the App Store. If you just want to play Tetris without the garbage I recommend it. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I’m just so disgusted with this game. It’s a betrayal to the fond memories I have starting 30 years ago.

There is no way to permanently remove ads. You have to keep on buying ad remover monthly. That is disgusting.

It’s sad to see a very simple game be used to track and annoyingly advertise to people. Game play is nice yet it’s slows your phone down and heats the processor up due to the countless trackers the game includes which drains your battery at a ridiculous pace.
